.urban alphabet

While searching camera stores to upgrade my just acquired new dSLR camera with a battery grip. I took my wife's old point-and-shoot camera with me to try some "candid" urban photography (face-slap on the camera choice).

I am new to urban photography, but feel there is a lot out there that needs to be captured.

.wasting time

Phew. That were some busy weeks. I think everything is back on track again, so I will (try to) post more pictures and posts.

This picture was created with the theme time in mind. It was the weekly challenge for the Strobist Sundays flickr group I try to enter each week. I found this week's theme perfectly fitting my personal time-management (or the lack thereof, to be honest).
No more of that. I promise you.

Here's more on the creation of this picture:

.clove

I always wanted to buy a bellows, in order to create some closer-than-close macro photography. But, being a Try Before I Buy guy, I was looking for someone that had one, with a Canon fitting.

Apparently these things are either hard to come by, or nobody wanted to lend one to me. After (very!) little thinking I came to the conclusion that a bellows is more or less nothing else then a closed (adjustable) box, with a lens fitting on the one end, and a camera fitting on the other... guess what: I was correct-ish...

.puzzling world

I kind of shot myself in the foot last week.

I had "won" the weekly Sunday challenge at this flickr group (Strobist Sundays). The winner has the honor to choose a new winner the week after and a new assignment for the week thereafter. Since I am always having trouble with shining objects and most definitely with metal, I choose to challenge the other with just that: Shiny Metal.

Never thought about it that I to had to compete this challenge as well, until time was almost gone, and I had to find an object that suited my needs...

.2012 (?)

Todays assignment was The End.

You might say In The End, we're not Alone, The End is Neigh or The Truth is Out There... Whatever your beliefs, if (when?) Aliens come to Earth, it will be The End of the World as we know it.

With The Close Encounter of the Third Kind in mind, I was playing around with the little woodies. At some point I decided to add a big woody to the scene, and it immediately completed the set.

Although the decor on the left and right could have been present a little stronger and I could have added a little decor on the background, looking at from where I started this, it turned out OK, I guess
